A domain name should not be treated as registered or renewed until confirmation has been received.

How domain registrations are handled

Sheridan Internet acts on behalf of the customer when requesting domain registration, renewal or maintenance through the relevant registry or registrar.

Customer authority

Customers authorise Sheridan Internet to act as their agent for domain registration and maintenance.

Registry terms

Domain registrations are subject to the terms of the relevant registry or naming authority.

Renewals

Customers are responsible for renewing domains on time and keeping contact details accurate.

No guarantee

A requested domain is not guaranteed until registration or renewal has been confirmed.

Sheridan Internet will request the appropriate registry to register the domain name.

The customer appoints Sheridan Internet and authorises Sheridan Internet to act as the customer’s agent for the purposes of registering the domain name on behalf of the customer.

The customer authorises Sheridan Internet to enter into the necessary registry or registrar arrangements required for registration, maintenance and renewal of the domain name.

The customer authorises Sheridan Internet, on behalf of the customer, to enter into a contract between the customer and the relevant registry incorporating the registry’s applicable standard terms and conditions from time to time.

This authority includes registration for the minimum registration period specified by the registry, maintaining the domain name registration, renewing the registration and settling registry fees connected with registration, maintenance or renewal.

Sheridan Internet may make any declaration required by the registry in connection with registration or renewal of the domain name.

The customer also authorises Sheridan Internet to disclose to the registry and its agents any written or unwritten communications to or from the customer where required in connection with the domain name.

If the customer wishes to change the registered details, the customer must notify Sheridan Internet immediately.

If properly authorised, Sheridan Internet will contact the registry or registrar accordingly.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that domain contact details are accurate, current and kept up to date.

Sheridan Internet makes no representation that a domain name the customer wishes to register or renew is capable of being registered or renewed by or for the customer.

The customer should not assume that a requested domain name has been registered or renewed until confirmation has been received.

Any action taken by the customer before such confirmation is at the customer’s own risk.

There is no guarantee that a domain name registration or renewal has been entered into the relevant registry database until confirmation has been received from the relevant registrar or registry.

The registration, renewal, transfer and use of a domain name is subject to the terms and conditions, policies and procedures applied by the relevant registry, registrar or naming authority.

Where the domain name is a .uk domain name, registration, renewal, transfer and use of the domain name is also subject to Nominet’s .UK Registrant Terms and Conditions and applicable .UK registry policies, as updated from time to time.

The customer must ensure they are aware of those terms, conditions and policies and that they comply with them.

The customer shall have no right to bring any claim against Sheridan Internet in respect of refusal to register or renew a domain name, or cancellation of the domain name by the relevant naming authority.

Any administration charge paid to Sheridan Internet shall be non-refundable, notwithstanding refusal by the relevant naming authority to register or renew the desired domain name.

Sheridan Internet shall have no liability in respect of the customer’s use of any domain name.

Any dispute between the customer and any other person must be resolved between the parties concerned in that dispute.

If such a dispute arises, Sheridan Internet shall be entitled, at its discretion and without giving any reason, to withhold, suspend or cancel the domain name.

Sheridan Internet shall also be entitled to make representations to the relevant naming authority, but shall not be obliged to take part in any such dispute.

Sheridan Internet gives no warranty that a domain name is, or will continue to be, available for the customer’s use, or that no domain name is or will be registered which conflicts with the customer’s domain name or otherwise affects the customer’s use of the domain name.

Sheridan Internet shall not release any domain to another provider unless full payment for that domain, and any other domain registered by the same customer, has been received by Sheridan Internet.

The customer shall not sell any domain for which payment has not been received by Sheridan Internet or the registrar.

Sheridan Internet may, at its option, instruct the registrar to invoice the customer directly for any fees due to the registrar.

The registration may be renewed provided that the customer pays the appropriate renewal fee on or before the relevant renewal date.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they apply to renew the domain name registration before the renewal date and provide accurate, up-to-date contact details.

Sheridan Internet will not be liable if the customer fails to renew any registration on time.

Sheridan Internet will send a renewal notice within 30 days before expiry.
